Few days back, I had some departmental presentation at hospital, on a very emerging topic, for which today I want to share about.

☑ Do u have acne prone skin?
☑ Are u suffering from anxiety, mood swings, fatigue more than usual?
☑ Are u suffering from thinning & loss of hair?
Out of 6, if you answered yes more than 4 times , then you might have need to read this👇
So, my topic was,
“PCOD~ An emerging lifestyle disorder”
What exactly PCOD does mean?
It’s polycystic ovarian disorder also known as ” Stein Leventhal” syndrome”.
It’s is endocrine disorder, which mainly affects woman of reproductive age grp (i.e. 13 to 45 yrs approx)
In this, ovaries build up numerous follicles but is not capable of releasing eggs due to multiple cysts in the ovaries.
This mainly caused due to overproduction of androgens( i. e. Male hormones)
As many of you had heard about hormonal imbalance,,, right!
Our hormones manage various processes in the body, when this hormones get imbalanced , the rest of the body also get imbalanced. This imbalance is the measurable key factor in treating such lifestyle disorders.

🌻Ayurveda is sophisticated & powerful mind-body health system, that originated in India🇮🇳 & has been refined over thousands of years to help people restore the optimal health.
Ayurvedic medicine believes that, 3 doshas (forces of energy) Vaat, Pitta & Kapha circulate in our body & regulate important bodily functions.
When this 3 doshas are in harmony, body is healthy but any imbalance lead to disease & health issues including- issues with fertility, menstrual disorders, PCOS, etc.
🔰 PCOD occur due to Kapha blocking vaat & pitta hence movement is obstructed
& transformation process get suppressed.
🔰Diminision of agni (digestive fire) also can be considered as a pathological factor here.
🔰Commonly ,Dhatus which are affected in this:
1. Rasa (lymph & plasma)
2. Meda (adipose tissue)
3. Aartav (female reproductive system)
To treat PCOD, Ayurveda focuses on bringing back balance of doshas particularly Kapha & Vaat through a combination of-
🍎Diet
🤸♂️Exercise
🧘♂️Meditation
😊Lifestyle modification
💊Ayurvedic medications &
🔮Detoxification (Panchakarma )
🔰It basically focus on
-balancing hormones
-boosting metabolism
-restoring fertility.

If one is suffering from PCOD, it increases the risk of fatal diseases like
-stroke
-heart disease
-diabetes
-abnormal uterine bleeding
-endometrial cancer
-sleep apnea, etc.
It gets hard to conceive, but if u r able to become pregnant then will be at risk of handling some difficulties during pregnancy, labor & delivery.
Above half of patient experience improvement in the PCOD symptoms after losing weight. So, lifestyle modification is a key factor we should focus on. I feel glad Ayurveda always focuses on lifestyle modification to be healthy.
Well, there are lot of people around us except medicos who dnt have an idea about PCOD , how to get diagnosed & get treated in its earlier stage. So,I need your help in spreading awareness regarding such diseases & issues that are common.
