🌹GULKAND🌹~ The delicious Ayurvedic Preparation

         

Do u know,❓❓  Rose~the king of flower (known as “Taruni” in ayurveda) loved for it’s intense beauty & aroma, can be useful to us in various ways rather than only to express love, forgiveness, appreciation to our loved ones❗❗

  Recently I tried to prepare ” GULKAND” ~ a sweet rose petal preserve (Jam/Gelly in local language)at home, which is really delicious, commonly known for its calming & soothing effect on body as well as mind due to it’s sheet virya(cooling property)

It also known to us, for various diseases that occur due to excessive heat in the body (known to as Pittaj vyadhi in ayurveda)

💠Acidity is common problem worldwide, many of them have to take antacid drugs before meal eveveryday. Some feels burning sensation in throat, heart burn , sore mouth,etc.
    Daily dose of gulkand reduce stomach heat, enhance digestion & to keep us at ease & free of irritation in stomch linnings

💠It helps healing mouth ulcers if dissolved in water & gargled.
It also used as a mouthfreshner.

💠It helps reduce excessive perspiration (atiswedapravrutti) & removes foul body odour (sharir-dourgandhya) by acting on dushta-swedavaha strotas.

💠It removes toxins & purifies the blood (act as a Raktashodhak) so helps keeping skin clean & clear, and prevents skin diseases like acne, blisters, boils, etc.
By its cooling property-
It also helps to reduce burning sensation of palm & soles (hasta-pada Daaha)
It gives protection during summer & helps preventing sunstroke
It also treats & prevents nasal bleeding (raktapitta) due to excessive body heat in the body.

💠It’s described ‘Vrishya‘ in ayurveda (correlated with improving virility & health of offsprings)
It’s proved that, essential oil present in rose flower has “Aphrodisiac” properties, this could be another reason why rose is associated with love.
It also helps to Boosts the fertility.

💠It also helps to relieve some gynaecological symptoms like – Dysmenorrhoea (painful menstruation) ,
Leucorrhoea(excessive whitish discharge from vagina) &
Foul smelling vaginal discharge.

Consult your physician for appropriate dose according to your prakriti!
Granthokta dose –  10-12gm a day

Contra Indications –

⭕Diabetic patients⭕ with high level of Blood sugar should consume it only after the advice of their personal Vaidya or diabetologists only.

    1. Method – 1

      Take 200 grams fresh rose petals and 100 grams sugar.

      Crush rose petals with hands. Grind the sugar crystals to make powder.

      Mix crushed rose petals and sugar together.

      Preserve the mixture in glass jar and keep under sunlight.

      You may need keeping under sunlight for a few days.

      In India, generally, people do not grind the sugar and crush rose petals. They just mix these two ingredients and keep it in a glass jar under direct sunlight. After a few days, sugar dissolves and mixes with rose petals. They start consuming the Gulkand. This method is without heating the rose petals. This method helps to preserve nutrients present in the rose petals.
